In case you are not aware, the Velothon cycling event is this Sunday, the 14th June. As there are road closures it may cause 14350637548_eb7913ca69_zproblems for clients who need to visit the VETS emergency clinic in Ystrad Mynach or Cardiff. For example, 2 busy roads leading in towards Ystrad Mynach (A472 and A469) will be restricted/no access all day. We would presume they will have diversions signposted about but should your pet need veterinary treatment on Sunday please be aware of this.

As most of these roads are closed for most of, if not ALL day, this could also cause problems for any clients requesting an ambulance collection. Whilst the event providers for Velothon and have informed the emergency service they would try to treat the veterinary ambulance as per any emergency vehicle, there will be inevitable delays as they try to guide the ambulance through.

Full details of the closures can be found on the website below…. if you look below the map pictures there are pdf downloads for specific areas which provide a bit more detail (e.g if traffic will be travelling in one direction only etc)

Should you need the emergency service, then please telephone them as usual and they will be able to advise you on the best course of action.

Our Swansea emergency service for Ystradgynlais clients is unaffected.
